Rachel Krisbergh, M.Ed., understands the unique obstacles that families face when seeking special educational resources and social-emotional support. Her mission is to empower parents with the knowledge and tools they need to make confident decisions about their child's education. Her holistic approach is built on a foundation of trust and compassion, which allows her to help parents understand the multitude of options available and eliminate the feeling of being overwhelmed.

With personalized attention, she guides you through the process of finding the right resources, offering strategies and expert advice tailored to your child's specific needs. Rachel works collaboratively so you can make informed decisions, advocate effectively, and ensure that your child receives the resources and opportunities necessary to thrive academically and beyond.

Solutions

Our process starts with an initial consultation to get to know each other and discuss the challenges your family is facing. We will work together to create a personalized plan for success that could include some of the solutions below.

High School Exterior

School Placement Services

  • Develop a customized list of public, private, boarding and therapeutic boarding schools

  • Review and manage deadlines and procedures for tours, interviews and applications

  • Provide tips to strengthen the applications

  • Guidance for families in final decision-making

  • Prepare students for school admission interviews 

  • Support family transition to school

  • Monitor, support, and provide ongoing consultation of the students' progress while in school or program

IEP and 504 Consultation

  • Review and summarize educational reports and testing

  • Special education process clarification 

  • Streamline communication with all service providers

  • Generate a list of possible 504 Plan accommodations

  • Review effectiveness of IEP goals and recommend areas for improvement

  • Attend 504 and IEP meetings and advocate on families' behalf 

  • Provide parent coaching ahead of meetings

About Rachel

About Rachel

Rachel has been an educator and community leader for children and families for over fifteen years. She received a Master's degree in both Special Education and General Education from New York University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Lafayette College. 

​

Rachel was a special education teacher for ten years in both public and private schools in New York City. She has significant experience navigating the process of developing, acquiring and maintaining an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan and helping families understand the best academic placements and support services available.   

 

She served on the Board of the Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Service including two years as Vice President on the Executive Board.   Rachel held many Executive Committee roles on the PTA of her children's school, including President, Vice President and Treasurer.  She was also the President of the SEPTA (Special Education PTA) for her school district for three years.  

 

Rachel lives in Westchester, NY with her husband and two children.
